The effects of climate change are a huge challenge for farmers and those working to secure the world’s food supply. With more frequent, severe and unpredictable weather events, climate change may be the single largest threat to agriculture.
Globally, total food production is responsible for one-quarter of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG)1. In the U.S., agriculture alone produces about 10% of GHGs2. But agriculture can also be – and already is – a major part of the solution, as it can help meet the global Net Zero ambition of reducing emissions, locking more carbon in the soil and providing space to reforest.
